I'm considering purchasing a set for the wife and I when she starts riding.. I have never used one and was looking for some input on why you like and dislike them.

me and a buddy picked up the entry level Chatterbox FRS used.
Likes: Could plug in MP3 and wired headset for pillion. Sound quality better than expected. Even with earplugs in, music and two-way communication was very clear. Fairly light weight. 2 mile distance supposedly. Unit itself is pretty rugged.
Dislikes: Two channels and no subchannels. PTT was pretty flimsy set up. Wind noise over 70 mph creates problems, especially using VOX. VOX takes some time to adjust properly.
If I were to do it again, I might consider something with blue tooth and full duplexing communication.

We have these & they work good. The buttons on the side take some getting used to but that's all. I can take a phone call, listen to music or talk to Mark if I need to. It's small, wire free & we can ride for most of the day before the charge dies.

THAT'S the direction I'm leaning right now.

I am a BIG fan of my new G4 powerset I just picked up. Only downside is the price as the powerset (with two headsets) came in at 379....
I am coming from the XBi and do like it a bit more. Only thing XBi won out on was the speakers were louder.
How's the sound from the G4 ? Would it be comparable to decent ear buds, for half decent sound reproduction? I'm so wanting to pull the trigger and get myself one, but if I wait and save a bit more cash, I would do better to buy the set = cheaper per unit price than buying singly, single units are going for $250 ish. Then I'd have one for my kid or another rider to borrow during a group ride.
