  • Saddlebags & Passengers?

Thinking of picking up some saddlebags as was curious if any of them still allow passengers. Thats kind of important since I only need them if I have a passenger who requires a hair dryer, make-up, maybe a change of shoes, extra clothes, big bottles of shampoo, conditioners, face scrubs, hair straighteners, curling irons, ect... I think you get the point.

Yes, if you route the straps under the seat it really would make little difference for the passenger.

If you have to route them over the seat, then I would recomend getting a cushion over the straps.

Most will fill under the passengers "thighs" and still allow for the footpegs to be clear, unless you get huge sized ones.

I can post pics tomorrow of my bike with them on, and a passenger if you like.

Just got them, so I'll update on how well they work. They have a 3 piece set for the same price as those 2 piece sets you posted.

I had some Fieldsheer softsides on the post 750 and the wife (5'1") had no trouble getting her feet on the pegs. After upgrading to the GIVI hard bags (36L side cases) she still has no issues riding on back or getting her feet on the pegs. My daughter who is 10 and about 4' 5" can reach the pegs with the Givi's on also. Hope this helps.

Okay, here are some pics with BadFaerie sitting on the bike. We rode over to the treetops on the second day, and I just parked the bike and hopped off for the pics.

I believe Badfaerie stated she didn't really notice they were there.

The only thing I could possibly say negative, is the instructions suck. But once you figure out the assembly and instal, it's really pretty simple and easy to put on and take off.

I could have moved them a bit further back, and had one strap over the tail light section for more room, but I didn't want a strap in front of the tag in that area I was riding...

Overall... I'm very happy with them for the price. Plenty of room for both BadFaerie and I to pack a couple days of cloths and basics, and I didn't notice they were there at all going down the road.

Thanks for the pics. I really appreciate it.

Do they use straps for holding on the tailights or grip bars? I have both of them removed. I may run into this problem with anything I buy I guess...

If you look at the 3rd picture down from the top, just above Badfaerie's foot you will see where I strapped the front side too. They have loops, so you just insert the other end through the loop around any bar you want to mount them. We choose the Y bars for the passenger peg to the inside bottom of the bags. There are mounting points to connect too all over the bags though, so you can switch it up to what ever you like.

Back side we just used the long strap across the back. This pretty much put enough tension against the "paint protection pad" to keep the bags still for a spirited ride across the dragon, skyway, and all the way home. They never moved.

I may have to get these next week. Great price too. The three piece set there looks good too, but I already have a tank bag... Thanks for all the help.

http://katriders.com/vb/showthread.php?t=67413 here are by bags, very large and they expand to twice that size. The wife travels with me just fine with these bags.
