I have a Billabong backpack that has straps on the back for holding skateboards, ect. It actually works great to stap my helmet to. Mind you it is not in a protected bag to keep it from being scratched but it does the trick of keeping it secure.
I am a Penn State fanatic.
Why is the sky blue and white? God is a PSU fan...
I just bought another one today at Walmart. Nothing fancy, but it is decent and looks like it will work perfect for me. Can't beat the price either, $19.88
It is an EastSport Airpack. There is enough room for a helmet. It will fit a 15" laptop as well. It has nice shoulder straps and a center strap across the chest to connect the shoulder straps together so they can't slide off your shoulder. Also, it has an inflatable airpack at the bottom for comfort and to help keep the backpack sitting straight and not trying to pull down on you.
If you want something cheap but durable get an old Military ALICE pack. I carry my extra helmet in mine sometimes, although lately I've just been strapping it to the back of the bike with a bungee cord. ALICE pack isn't pretty but it has a sternum strap and other great features.
