I've included the link to mine, which is made by Targus. It's not compact by eany mens, but it's has tons of room and pockets for stuff. It comes in a smaller 15" CityGear version, but that is probably going to be too big for your MAC: http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=TXL617
This "Phat Chick" rides her own!!!
BTW, I think they may have been correct. It does appear that BLACK is indeed the FASTEST color. R.O.R...R.I.P.M

Axio makes some killer hardpacks that offer protection for you and for your stuff...Plus they make a Repsol pack that looks great!

Right now I use an O'gio backpack, which is make for motorcycling as well. It has a padded spine protector built in.
OGIO is an innovative designer of bags with unique styling that is infused with intelligent designs.

I've also heard good things about the big Joe Rocket one that has space for a helmet.

I have the Icon Squad pack... enough room for your 'puter, and a fold out helmet bag... but, i find that i don't comfortably have enough room for head movement with it... it has a plastic handle right on the top of the bag that my helmet seems to smack into...
not uber fantastic for the $100
the kat may be the gixxer's retarded cousin, but she's a hefty broad... and i do loves me some girth between my thighs.

Dude, I use an old North Face bag with my 13" ibook and things seem to work well. The bag's pretty nice cuz you can use the straps to really draw things close to your body instead of it flying free when going around a turn. Instead of having a pouch inside of it for the laptop, I just got a neoprene sleeve for it from best buy ( i don't think it cost much more than $20.

I had a thread about 7 months ago talking about the Jansport I picked up for $30 on clearance. It has all the right straps and has been working well for me for quite sme time. My only gripe is that i like lots of little pockets so that I can separate my stuff. the jansport I got has 2 main compartments and nothiing really to separate stuff.

I have a backpack from Boblbee Co. it is made for motorcycle riders and it fits my laptop and a lot more. I paid $200 for mine but I just Google the backpack and saw it going for $140 oh and it is CE approved.

i have an old Echo unlimited backpack from like 6 years ago. it has the extra long straps hanging from it so when riding they stretch out long and flap in the wind. makes me look like i have wings!

I use a Cold Water Canyon backpack from Wall World that cost around $15 and it works great. I've even stuffed a pair of my Steel toe size 13 work boots in it and had room for everything else.

I use a low profile hiking backpack. If you have a little padded case you can toss that in as well for extra bump protection

the thing i notice that sucks about riding with a back pack is that it interferes with the armor in your jacket. i have a fieldsheer jacket and it feels like someone stabbing me in the back!

I want to agree with Bright Wire on this one. I have the Jansport Airlift backpack and it works great. Rides good with no real movement at all. I pack it full of stuff all the time. Works great.

How in the world do you justify more than maybe $60 for a backpack? Seriously, $150?

A backpack is not a back protector. Anything in it can potentially stab you in the back in a fall and do Very Bad Things. You need to get an armadillo (spine protector) whether you have a backpack or not.

Couple years ago my friends and I got our boblbees at Carrefour for about 60 pesos. That's 20 dollars!!! It was a Steal!!!
I think they were giving them up cause they don't sell them anymore.
Got mine in yellow so people can see me while passing them

I use a Swiss Gear back pack, I bought one last year kind of close the the one in the link (same price).

It is really comfortable and fits my 15" note book easy.
