I've tried that on those really hot days and to me it does make it feel a little cooler. But make sure you wash your liner once you're done using your helmet. Starts to smell funky if you dont after a couple of days.

I use a skull cap/helmet liner I got from bicycle shop- works very well, and keeps helmet cleaner. Only minus is the thing is on a hot day, the thing is bone dry by the next fuel stop.

Hmm, never tried that, but I may have too. I wash my liners after a couple days of hot rides. Nothing is worse then a funky smelling helmet.
It doesn't matter what you ride, as long as you ride.

I've never heard of that. It must be with that helmet. The liner in my helmet is not removable, just the cheeck pads. I have seen helmets left in the rain and they get very musty, very fast though.
