Heated grips question: power drain?

Hey all,
Really want to keep riding this winter and have been looking at heated grips for the 97 Kat.
Have any folks had problems with any sort of power drain on the battery from the grips?

I've had set of the kimpex ones on for 2 seasons with out any issues.

Short answer, no.

I've had my Hot Grips, Piaa driving lights and my Gerbing jacket pluged in at the same time in the winter time with no ill affect to the charging system.

If I remember correctly, the alternator for my 2001 is rated around 520-540 watts. It's even better than the first generation Yamy FJR which is supposed to be a dedicated ST sled.
