I'm looking to buy one of these and i want o know the good and bad things i'll be getting my self into. This will be my first kat. its got 19k miles and its been babied its whole life. dealer serviced.

I'm looking for the bad as much as the good. but i think its clear that the good out weighs the bad.

Very True. I'm thinking of these bikes in general not so much this specific one. What should i be looking for when i inspect it?

Soft suspension, most likely a worn out rear shock. The carbs gum up just like the 600 & 750 carbs if you let the bike sit for too long.

Oh, and the stock 16 inch wheels don't leave you many choices in tires.

Well, I have a 93 Kat 1100, and I love it. Just know that there is very few aftermarket parts avail. I have had to make most of my parts from scratch. There is some stuff on eBay, but you know how that goes.

The 1100 has good power and great handling in my eyes. There is not really anything bad mechanically that I can tell you about them.
