  • New Bike

I recently purchased a 2009 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 custom. I love it so far. Small enough bike that it handles great and has surprising power. My wife didn't like riding on the Katana so she never went with me. We have taken the new bike out several times and she really likes it. I kept the Kat because I still love to ride it also.
My son is 22 and today took the first part of the motorcycle course. He is going to start riding it. He has been riding dirt bikes since he was 6, but has never rode a street bike. I have been letting him ride it around a huge parking lot lately and he seems like a natural. I think he is getting sick of hearing me telling him how dangerous bikes can be.
Anyways here's a pic of the new bike.

Thanks. After all the work I put in on the Kat I just couldn't let it go.

        Nice bike.

That looks like it's water cooled because of the radiator, right?

Thanks.Yes it's water cooled. I was shocked at how much fun it is to ride. "Pirate" nope not yet, that's where I carry my water bottle.
My son took the course and yesterday I went for a ride with him. He was like a kid in a candy store. You couldn't knock the smile off his face with a 2x4. He will be the main rider on the Kat now but I still get to ride it whenever I want.

Nice looking ride. I have been thinking about doing something similar. Keeping the Kat and getting a cruiser for "family" rides
