Hey all. I went to start my bike(2002 600) the other day and got nothing, no power at all. Upon further inspection, I noticed that the clock wasn't even displaying. Checked the battery and everything else, finally found the main fuse on the left side was blown. Replaced that and the clock came back on, so that was a good sign. Turned the key and the clock went out, off it went on. I stopped at that point figuring I would probably blow the fuse again. I had started it a month prior with no problem and it's stored in my garage. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing it before I go nuts guessing?

Connect a 12v 21watt bulb in place of the fuse and switch on ,if it lights then you have a dead short. move the wiring about connections till it goes out, then you have the fault.
Once the light doesn't come back on replace with a fuse and try to start.
This is how I used to find shorts on cars without using loads of fuses....I'm outa here
