1988 wire harness

Real quick question: Are all Pre model year wire harnesses compatible with 1988? I've noticed a few compatibility issues between 88's and the rest of the pres on other issues. I'd like to get a 90's wire harness cuzz they are cheap. My wire harness works fine but the plastic connectors are crumbling away and I can't find a option to just replace the connectors.

End of the electrical section has the wiring diagrams. Should be able to tell you if they are the same or not.
