I have a 1990 gsx600f and it's time to replace the coils but I want to know if I can use coils from another year katana. So what would work?

Time to replace the coils?... unless the coil is not working properly, there isn't really a "time" to replace it. They don't really have a "shelf" life.
Wires can be replaced on the coils if they are hard or damaged. I believe it's 7mm solid core plug wire you would want for that.
The coils are the same for all pre/post 600 and 750 Kats though, so ... if your set on replacing them, pic anything from 88+ and I know they will work.

If you are having a spark problem, you can try trimming back the wires just a little bit to see if that helps.-Steve
