I have an 82 maxim 550 turn signal question

So we bought new turn signals non led for the maxim and they will light up but not blink. I was told they are not creating enough of a draw from the relay. We bought in-line resisters to put on but not sure which wires to install the resisters. I tried just placing them on the pos and neg of the turn signal wires but that was a no go still did the same thing. So brings me to this thread....any ideas or has anyone had this problem and know what to do. thanks for all the input.

not sure about the electrical problem..but i had an 81 550 maxim. that thing had no power whatsoever, but i miss it

if the turn signals are stock, i dont see why you would need resistors.
have you checked the turn signal relay (flasher)?
are you certain you are installing the correct turn signal bulbs?
