  • Digital Speedometer = cool

    Anyone have a digital speedometer?

Or any kind of digital stuff on the bike?

I really want to add more cool electrical mods to my bike.

I have wanted a digital gear indicator for some time now.

    And a digial speedometer.

Can I add this one and use it along with the stock gauges?

    this one is cool too

I know there are older posts on this. But I think it's nice to be refreshed

Yeah thats cool but it is not a Katana

Trying to upgrade a Katana is like pulling teeth without anesthesia.

It is very difficult and painful.

Seriously nothing on this bike was easy to mod except the slip-on and windscreen spikes.

Anyone on here trick out there Katana with digital upgrades?

This is place to post up your long term projects. Projects that took you a while to get done. Post them here. Examples like kwebbel's build up , B-12 engine swaps, swing arm swaps etc..would go here.

Cutting the tail fender was an EASY upgrade as well. I love the digital idea though. Not sure I would want to mount any extra stuff on the bike though.
I am sure you could remove the old gauge cluster and mod something to fit in there, and then just glass over it so it forms correctly and looks good.

I dont know how I missed that in my search.

                    That is insane.

Probly that most Bad A$$ mod you will ever see for a Katana.

I don't even think suzuki could make this as nice as this.

                    I want one NOW.

I can't build that though I am not a rocket scientist.

I just wanna know if this digital speedometer will run as an add-on along with the existing guages?

I dont wanna take anything out. Just add more on.

                      These guys sell em... http://www.healtech-electronics.com/

Basically our bikes have digital odometers so the gear indicator will work.

Here is a distributer in the States: http://www.calsportbike.com/cgi-bin/...d=2026&count=1

                      ... Something I've been researching 'cause I'm looking for 7th gear too often. :-}

Mine's all digital, adding a gear indicator later on...

my suggestion.... because i've been researching this myslef... is that if you are good at wiring/schematics.... then go for it... alot of it will just be understanding which wire carries which signal, and then splicing it in... as far as mounting it... easiest way would be to take the old cluster out and making a new mold to fit where the stock cluster went... i would stay away from glassing it tho... fiberglass, if done wrong, will crack under vibration... and a bike has alot of vibration... on the other hand... you could do a mount in vaccum formed ABS, and have pretty much the same thing as your stock cluster... just one that fits the digi gauge
