  • Illumiglo Gauge Problem....

Does anyone here have the illumiglo gauge mod and had any problems with it?!I've had mine on for about 5 months with no problems until yesterday....While the bike was running, they just shut off!!I checked and the third light went off too,so I fixed the wire for third light(it broke loose),and it came back on but the gauges still weren't lighting up!!I've been running the gauges off the third light this whole time with no problems.Everything else works fine....Headlights,tag lights, signals, brake light, third light, etc.,and it seems like it's all connected...It's only the dash that went out!!I'm not sure if it's the little box(connected in line with the gauge wiring..)or what....If any one has had this problem,or can give me an idea what it could be,I'd really appreciate it....thanks!

Check power to the gauges, the connection to them may have broke too.

The transformer for these things is fragile. I have replaced mine twice already. However, it sounds as though the third light fail may be related.

Good news is, the transformer isn't but about $20 to replace.

Apparently the wire where the 3rd light and the gauges were spliced just barely came loose....The wires from the gauges are so thin,I think I'll just sotter them instead,to ensure that they dont come loose again...Thanks for the help!!
