I just swapped a 98 600 kat motor and wiring harness into a mfg in 9/94 frame. now i have looked at alot of wiring diagrams but im not finding any that have the plug setup like on these gauges so im not sure if im looking at wrong yrs or if these gauges arent even from this bike. So i turn to the all knowing kat riders for some guidence.

What you possibly could do is work backwards from the instrument gauges to where the wires connect to. For example, wire(s) leading back to the gas tank will be for the gas gauge. Wire(s) going back to the neutral switch will be for the neutral light, etc.
Then you can mark down the color of those wires and match it up to the new wiring harness. Either splice, cut and solder, in the old plug on your existing intrument guage to the new wiring harness or pop out the pins on the old plug and pop in the new pins on the new wiring harness to the old connector plug.

If your using the 98+ harness, why not use 98+ gauges....
