hid question

i installed my 6000k hid on my pre600, it pluged into my high temp h4 socket and was all plug and play, it comes on when i turn the key but when i go to start it and the hid goes out, do i have to add a relay or just put a switch in line with the power and turn it on after bike is running, thanks

I think going thru the stock wiring is giving enough of a voltage drop to lose the arc, then the ballast must fire it off again. I'm told you'll vastly shorten the bulb life when this sort of restart continues to happen.
