NAH no ya dont just hold the clutch

But for real that is def. a new problem never saw that one come across before...i would think you would have to take the cluster apart in order to get to the bulb to replace it....If i remember correctly on the 98+ the green neutral indicator is under the glass/plastic (whatever is covering the cluster)

Not 100% sure about the Pre's but to me this def sounds like a problem that is like "Juice is not worth the squeeze" situation....

Personally I wouldn't worry about it....You can feel when your in neutral with the shifter...and if ya cant ease out on the clutch if it doesn't pull any your in neutral if it does try again lol ALL THE WAY DOWN and up 1 is the sweet spot

On the pre just take off the windscreen and you have access to all the bulbs.

Sounds like it could be just as simple as replacing the bulb. I don't think you should really depend on looking down and seeing it on there, it's good to know how to put it in neutral regardless. Sometimes when it's really sunny out I cant' even see the neutral light. That't just me! But I'd still want it replaced too.

Like Kevin said, Pop off the windsheild, you can acess most of the bulbs from there. Tho it is a bit tight if you got big hands. They are in rubber boots that fit up into the green bezel. They are a tight fit and a little difficult to pull out. But you can get it. They are standard # 194 bulbs avalible anyplace that has car bulbs., Might need to pull the fairing if you cant get your gorilla hands in there, or possibly pop the dash itsself.
If its not broke, Hit it with a bigger hammer and blame it on cheap imports

RIP Dad 3/15/08 Love and miss ya already
