I'm new to the Kat Family but not to biking in general. I'm also a techie and have a background in Electronics.
So, without taking the time to look at the pigtail connection and believing that the fan would be a good option on particularly hot days, or for resale and meeting Cali Emissions, wouldn't it be a good idea to simply wire a switch inline with the pigtail?
With a switch you get the best of both worlds: 1. You have a fan that can be enabled only when you want it to provide xtra cooling and 2. You don't have to worry about running down the battery as you can turn off the fan any tiem the bike is unattended.
Just a thought for anyone doing this "mod" in the future.
