  • Won't Start

So it was a gorgous weekend up here in Canada, tons of bikes out. Mine is currently in pieces but I figure what a great time to get out in the garage and go to work putting it back together for the season and maybe take it out for a spin naked. I go to start it up and the battery is dead so I get out the cables and try a jump from my truck (turned off of course), I get nothing, not even a little noise. The power is defintaly there I was able to get response from the break lights. Now my question, I was trying to turn it over with no gauges hooked up. I have all the plastics off, due to a little rashing at the end of last season. I tried re attaching the guages by them selves and still no go. I am wondering if anyone has any idea's what I could try next. I have not tried to hook back up all my headlights and turn signals but I don't figure that that would stop it from starting. I have had it running over the winter, but that was before I disconected the guages. Any idea's?

There's a wire that comes out from the crank cover, and goes up, and across to the other side of the bike. On my Pre98 it's blue. That was my problem when I went to start my kat.
