88 Kat 600 Engine Swap

Hey All, it's been a while since I've owned a kat, got rid of my 600 a few years ago. I'm now looking at picking up an 88 600 really cheap and have plans to swap the engine. Everything about the engine swaps talk about the 89-97. Is the 88 frame set up the same as far as swapping in? Not sure exactly what I want to do yet but just want to make sure the 88 is as easy as the 89-97's.

No different on the engine mount. Frame and geometry is different

So with a swap in mind, do you think it's better for me to hold out for a 89-97?

Not really any difference in the motors, find a low mileage 88-06 motor. 98-06 are silver but, the same motor. just the 90-97 carbs are recommended as the 88-89 parts are hard to come by.
