  • Tech tip: Valve adjustment

Thanks to 92XJunker's help, I was able to figure =-out which way to turn the adjuster to allow slack to get my feeler gauge in there (counter-clockwise). I figured I could get away with no using the adjuster tool, which turned out to be a royal pain in the rear (using needle-nose pliers).

Getting desperate, I scrounged around, looking for anything to speed the process up. Hmm . . . square drive . . . 3mm socket? Nope, don't have one. Mold some metal? Too time consuming.

Easiest find: small tap handle. It obviously allows a square drive for taps. Easy-peasy.

A small angle grinder cut into a scrap piece of thin steel plate works a treat too. 2 minute job and a tool for life. ) 5 minutes and you can make it actually look and feel like a real tool.

Electrician or square head deck screw in a piece of broom handle works also.
