Possible fuel cock problem

I think i might know the answer to this but looking for any feedback.

my motorswap and carb tune/sync is complete and the bike runs great. about 99.9% of the time.

However, every couple days - once in a while - it acts like its starved for gas. the way it acts when you realize you need to switch to reserve. the first time it did this I just switched to reserve but there was no way i could have been that low. so I rode for about 2 minutes and then switched back to on and rode another 10 miles before it did it again. then I switched to reserve, finally found a station, and filled up.

Then yesterday, with a full tank it did it again. switched to reserve and nothing changed. so I switched back - and then in a minute or so the problem just went away.

Im guessing the cock needs replacing. And the tank probably needs a tank coat.

Can anyone "best guess" confirm this? Sound familiar to anyone?

It's good. It feels like it's only starving on 1&2 or 3&4. still idles and runs but feels like its running on 2.

Like it's intermittently only feeding one fuel out nipple.

I suppose i could check the functionality of the cock by switching to constant flow the next time this happens. should immediately clear i would imagine.
