I'm opening up my 03 600 engine to replace a snapped cam chain. To my knowledge, everything's stock.
I was hoping to simply buy a bike, ride it, and perform the routine maintenance - I've had enough projects and didn't plan on another one.
However, since I'm opening it up, I have a few stock GSXR cams sitting around that hopefully are still usable. I couldn't find any cam specs in the manual beyond lift, in contrast to the GSXR manual which provides a handy graphic of duration and overlap.
I did a search and couldn't find any threads talking about any info for my purposes. Has anyone done any cam swaps that can/would provide any input, even if anecdotal?
It looks like there's about 1/2 millimeter of lift to gain with the old slabby 750 cams, so why not...it would be nice to finally find a use for them after all this time.
Any input?
Thanks!
