    Bottom end/Clutch noise.

    I have a light "thump" in the bottom and of my 89 750 Kat. It mostly goes away when I pull in the clutch. Could it be the clutch or something more sinister.

    There is no abnormal vibration or noise when the engine is revved. It is only noticeable at idle.

    Check the clutch components? May be a worn basket catching a plate. Also change the oil lately?

      Thump

      I thought it might be the clutch basket. The bike got new Valvoline 10/40 motorcycle oil last April (about 500 miles ago) and a new K&N oil filter.
