  • K&N Filter vs Stock

So I have owned my kat for about 4 months now. I am getting into a couple more questions, and seeing some of the problems coming out. My question here is there is a K&N filter on it, and a yoshi exhaust. I believe its been rejetted, but not correctly, and it is still running lean. Would replacing the K&N with a stock filter help this? If so, can someone link the stock filter?

very few people have got KN filters to run properly on the kat, chances are that the previous owner didnt get it running properly either. you will probably make things better going stock filter again. It might not fix all your problems but it will probably make things better than they are.

I am assuming youre talkinga bout the air filter.

Yes. I have a friend who is a suzuki tech, but it would probably be less of a head ache to switch a filter, then to rip it all down, and mess with jetting to tune it.

here's the link to an appropriate oem alternative...

the k&n doesn't provide enough flow thru resistance for the CV carbs our bikes have. They need a certain level of resistance to function properly. The oem paper type will save you the headache. Id start there.

since your here, with flatsides how often would you have to tune and how finicky are they to elevation changes etc? Just curious how impractical they are for daily driving

Everyone knows RED makes it go faster!

Unfortunately, after a few months work they all go back to the same boring colour and slow down
