I bought an aftermarket Shift lever. The linkage matches up, but the dowel hole to mount the lever is too big. It look to me that I Could use a spacer but I wanted opinions before I went playing. Just a simple example. there is... Say... a 2 inch hole on the lever and a 1 inch dowel. not exact... If I put a spacer in,do I permamently Mount spacer to lever or just Secure with a larger washer?

yes pics would help, I agree. I have not had a Chance to work on it again. It is an E-bay buy from China because I cannot Find anyone Who Carriesaftermarket parts... bike is too Old. I Stopped by ACE hardware and they have a selection of items that may work. when I get the Chance to tear back into it,I'll take pics.

I understand what your sayin. The post on the sprocket cover where there is a c-clip holding the shifter on (the pivot point of the shift linkage) is smaller than the hole in the shifter. Logically yes a spacer should work with a larger washer behind the clip to keep it all from sliding off. First I would check with manufacturer to see if the spacer got left out or an alternative part is available94 GSX600F, V&H 4-1 Supersport exhaust
