      Until you can get a replacement, I would go with the coupler idea. However, instead of jb weld, ask the guy behind the counter for high temp exhaust adhesive. This stuff is rated for temps up to 2400 degree's. Its not as cheap as rtv, but it won't melt away as easily either.
