  • changed gasket and still have small leak

    I recently changed the gasket on the crankcase cover and it still leaks!! I took it back off and checked the cover for any cracks and i didnt find any. my question is could i have put the gasket on improperly?

    Or one of the surfaces (case, cover) still has residue from the prior gasket and that is causing it to not seal.

      i had given that some thought also being that the old gasket that come off was almost like plastic and i had to scrape it off in some places, i also read that if its not properly clean and dried that it could be an issue?

        Isn't there a screw with a washer that has to go back in a specific spot? That seems to ring a bell...
