A/F screw resistance?

so when adjusting your a/f screws i was told to turn them in till i feel resistance, then turn them out about 2.5 turns.

my question: 3 of my screws will screw in and hit a solid resistance point, one of them will screw in and hit a moderate resistance point and still be able to screw in a turn or so till it becomes more solid. yes ive removed the screw and cleaned it out.

so when do i stop screwing it in?

You screw them in until they bottom out.
