  • Would you swap it or ????

I am having difficulty to decide either to have my engine with 140000km rebuilt, short block and valves because of poor compression on 2 cylinders or swap it for a 1994 750 with 16000km '' will it fit ????'', engine with work done by a mechanic 400$. Need advice. Thinking of keeping the bike 2 more years maybe 3

Swap it, makes much more sense than rebuilding.
90% of motorcycle forum members do not have a service manual for their bike.

what makes even more sense is taking the opportunity to stick an 1100 (1127) engine in there. and it just so happens that I have everything you would need to do it. the engine I have has less than 40k kms on it.

it won't be as cheap as your $400 mechanic, though....nor as cheap as buying a 600 or 750 engine. it comes at a slightly higher price, but you end up with a totally different beast. and you only live less than an hour from me. it's a sign from the gods....
I don't have a short temper. I just have a quick reaction to bullshit.

Thank you for the offer, but I don't want to spend too much and quite happy with the 750.
Forgot to mention that my bike is a 2005, so will the 94 fit ?? The mecanic told me that the only thing missing from the 94 engine is the cams so will take the ones on the 2005.

Well you know what they say. Admitting your mistake is part of being an adult, well here is mine. When I wanted to adjust my valves before the start of summer I took my shop manuel and started to work on the adjustement, had not noticed that the engine on the pics was up side down , thought that top of the page was the exhaust and bottom was the intake .
Wrong I was !!!! so wound up buying another engine when mine was probably still OK , still I think got a good engine , about 7500 miles to 8500 miles instead of 86000 miles.
Lesson learned ! to always look at the pictures very carefully befor working on the bike !!!!!

            So that is My story
