  • carb sync port extension

I would like to install some permanent rubber vacuum hose extensions on my carb sync ports so that they are more easily accessible to sync my carbs.
Then put a brass barb in the end and cap off. Has anyone else done this?
If so, where the heck did you get your rubber vac hose & what size did you use?
I can not find rubber hose locally in a size that fits.

Yep - it makes life a lot easier come balance time. I can't remember the exact hose size, but if you take a cap with you, you'll be able to match it up. From memory, the petcock vacuum line from #4 carb is slightly larger than the others.

I played around with lengths a little so they could be secured with a zip tie to the throttle cable and not interfere with carb operation such as choke etc. A bit fiddly to set up neatly initially but well worth the effort. (Thought I had a pic but can't find it.)

My local auto shop had all the bits. Use quality hose and caps - it gets real hot in there.

Ya, I also extended all carb vacuum ports (VIA rubber hoses) to the right side of the engine.
