I have a 93 katana that i been working for a few months now when i try to start it up it redlines at very high rpm's what's up with that help please!

Carbs incorrectly set, throttle stuck or tickover screw turned right in are the places to start !

mine was doing the same thing when i tore it down to repair plastics and do the plugs .i had to tear down the carbs and give them a good cleaning .i think it sucked in a peice of rust or something off the bottom of my tank

Check the choke cable. And throttle cables
