    Hmmm, never did it that way. I just reach under and screw the drain plug back in. But marking the back of the scale would work fine.

    The other common mistake is not torquing something down in 1 continuous movement. If you stop before the wrench clicks you will find that when you go back to tighten it you have to overcome the initial friction to get the fastener moving again - and almost always the torque wrench will click before the fastener ever turns - and you end up under torqued. In that case you need to back it off and retorque it again.
