  • stripped engine block?

alright so in a foolish endeavour.. i thought i had to remove the clutch case to remove the starter because the oil pipes wouldnt let me pull the starter out all the way ... well when i was putting in one of the bolts with an allen key it just kept spinning and spinning, i pulled it out and it was covered in metal shavings .. it came from the left engine case peice.. am i screwed? is there a way to fix this .. i think it might spray oil if i cant get it fixed

Helicoils can fix it. This http://www.emhart.com/brands/heli-coil

that is just soem ramdom search you you get an idea, but lowes, home depot, and any decent hardware store will have them. You just have to match the size and thread to the bolt you are using...

the idea of using a drill bit on my engine makes me nervous as hell, the idea of possibly messing it up worse scares the crap out of me

You don't really even need to make the hole bigger. Use the STI tap and tap the existing hole. Install the thread insert. Done. You're tapping aluminum, it's not exactly hardened steel you're dealing here. Here's the size of the bolt:
