cam chain tensioner

Hey guys just a quick question on how do i reset or adjust the cam chain tensioner, bike is a 97 750 and the manual does not say much about

remove the CCT from it's housing then replace it.

If you think you are having issues with it, the spring is bad.

Okay, just wondering. i had adjusted the valves back to where they should be a few weeks ago and after doing that there was a fairly loud ticking noise from the engine and some guys on here said it is the cct
