  • Replacement Engine, which spark plugs

    Hi All,

I have a 1995 600 Kat and have just fitted a 2002 engine. Given that the carbs and exhausts are the 1995 versions, which plugs do you reckon would be the better choice, 95 model DR8 or 2002 model CR9.

I'm erring towards the 95 model's plugs as I can't find any info suggesting that the later model engine changed that much. If anyone knows any better though I'd be glad to hear.

    Thanks

You're misunderstanding what the plugs mean. The 1995 D plugs are 12mm in diameter. The 2002 C plugs are 10mm in diameter. Therefore you kinda have no choice in the matter. You HAVE to use the CR9 plugs.

      Nice one

Thanks for that, hadn't got around to taking them out and they were close enough to not notice in situ.

      Cheers,

      Jools
