  • 95 Katana shuts off while riding

I have done some looking around and can't seem to figure out what my problem is.

I have a 95 Katana 600 that I took out for a ride for the first time of the year, it ran fine on my way there but on the way back it kept shutting itself off while driving down the road. I had to pull over and kick it into neutral to restart it... sometimes I had to go as far as shutting the key off and turning it back on a few times, other times putting the kickstand down and back up fixed it. However, I could drive without it shutting off as long as I kept the RPMs below 4K.

My only thoughts are in the kickstand switch or in the ignition switch, but I am unsure why I would be able to drive at low RPMs. Any ideas or advice on how to check these (other than splicing)?

    Thanks in advance.

disconnect the kickstand safety switch, hotwire across it and see what you get.

Could be fuel delivery. If your floats are not refilling the bowls fast enough at higher rpm that could happen.
