  • Bike won't crank?

So I went to start my bike, forgot to put choke on, but it started right up. once running for a second, I turned the choke all the way up and the rpms went up to the usual 2.8 thousand. Went to turn off the high beams, and the engine kicked out. Now the bike doesn't even try to crank, headlight doesn't come on, but tail light is functional, and blinkers don't work. Neutral light is functional. Anybody got any ideas? its clearly something electric.

Check the (evil) clutch safety switch. Better yet, disable the stupid thing.

Just my curiosity, did you try putting the brights back on and crank it?

As it turns out, the PO had already bypassed the clutch safety switched, the two wires just got jostled out from each other, and bike is running. simple! thank you Bill
