High idle

Hello i have a 2000 katana 750. In the mornings i use the choke to start the bike cause it just shuts off if i dont. As soon as i get it going i turn the choke off and it idles at 3000 the rest of the day. Im pretty sure the choke aint stuck cause it rides fine just like normal. And throught the day it stays idleing around 1200-3000. And its only everycouple days? anyone know what the deal is
