  • GS500 Carbs

    My buddy has a GS500 with Carb issues... He wants me to look at them and see what I think.. Anyone ever mess with them? Are they like that Post Kats at all? Any help would be great

        They should be the same as the kat carbs, just 2 instead of 4.

          Thats why I was asking the year. I know the 92 gs500e was the same as my 92 kat. Just wasn't sure if they changed over with the post kats.

            BTW, 90-97 600 and 98-06 600 carbs really aren't the same at all. I mean, they function the same way, but they are very different in design.

                They will be very similar to pre-kat carbs. I don't know the exact sizing since I didn't google up the answer.

                The image I pulled off of ebay for a rack of carbs that era looks like an abbreviated set of pre-kat carbs.

                Late model GS500 carbs share rebuild kits and are the same size as 98+ Kat 600 carbs.

                    the newer GS500 carbs are the same cabs on the Kat just half as many

                    the older GS still had CV carbs but slightly different style
                    98 GSX750F
                    95 Honda VT600 vlx
                    08 Tsu SX200

                      There's a site devoted just to the GS500s with a lot of helpful people and information, just in case you didn't already know about it.
