Air Filter Cleaning...

I have a new one on order but have a ride coming up Sunday. Is there an effective way of temporarily "cleaning" the air filter out?

Hold the filter with the intake opening down. If you have a shop vac then turn it so the intake is up and put the shop vac hose inside the filter. With the shop vac on spray compressed air all over the outside of the filter to drive the dirt off the filter elements.

If you don't have a shop vac then this will be a messy job since all the dirt in the filter will come out as a cloud of fine dust. Either way, do it outside and stand upwind.
