    Hello all,

I was hoping for a little help with a rattle. I just bought a 97 katana 600 that has 9500 miles on it. The engine sounds perfect at idle and when reving it up. When I take off I start hearing a rattle around 15mph, it get;s a little louder up to 60mph (have not been faster than 60 yet). I thought it was a lose chain when I bought it, but I adjusted that. It sounds like it's comming from the left side, but can't find anything loose. Any ideas?

I had this strange rattle that I couldnt figure out for the life of me. The one day I had to use my spare key... Turns out it was my keychain bouncing off the triple trees.

Don't discount the keys possibility. I've worried myself over the same thing. Other possibility is that you've got a loose heat shield on the exhaust. Are you running the stock pipes?
