  • help- turbo with flat slide carbs

    I have a 1990 katana 600 engine adapted on a buggy.
I recently installed a turbo setup for blow through on the stock cv carbs.
I just keep getting into problems with the cv’s
I have a friend that has a a mikuni flat slide carbs.
Any help if these will work with the turbo setup as for i don’t want to use the cv. this is just for fun,low boost street.

    thanks, Jack

This is something that anyone who knows what they are doing, knows not to do. I doubt you're going to get much help on this subject.

Not that this will help any but back when I put a turbo on a yamaha snowmobile using flatslide carbs it would not run correctly, Even the kit developer admitted they screwed up using flatslides. After putting a set of roundslide carbs on it cleaned everything up and ran very well. Also I had put a bypass on it so the turbo would not stall when letting off the throttle suddenly.

      Neither were CV carbs BTW.

Non CV carbs and turbos doesn't mix, at least not on a bike. Forget it or you run the risk of getting seriously injured.

carbs PERIOD and turbos don't mix. You want to turbo it, rig an FI system.
