  • head leaking lots of oil

Alright my bike was appart for 2 weeks getting a valve job done and carbs as well. We just threw it back together and just from cranking over the motor, it begins to leak oil right out in front of the cylinder 2 exhaust port by the header. And we didnt touch anything on the head, so im a little confused as to how this could have started. The oil flows pretty quickly out of the head, and it wasnt doing it before we took off the valve cover and carbs. Any ideas?! thanks !!!

its not leaking from the valve cover, is it possible the spark plug gaskets could be bad or pinched causing it to leak??

The only thing that could be wrong from the valve job is the valve cover gasket. Unless you somehow he-manned the head out of alignment or something...

No, it could be the CYLINDER HEAD GASKET. I doubt the valve cover gasket is the issue.

I bet you didn't get the valve cover gasket aligned right. If you are re-using it, they tend to shrink a little when you put it back together. It takes time to get it to work.

It probably IS the head gasket, but after a simple valve adj it shouldn't be.

A valve job and a valve adjustment are two VERY different things. Which one was it?

it WAS the valve cover gasket, the cylinder 2 gasket fell off while putting the valve cover back on, fixed it! Doesnt leak anymore!

Guys , chill . Head was off . If spewing out the little weep hole in front , it is MOST likely the plug well gasket letting oil get into the well and spitting out . Been there , did that .
