  • Iridium Plug Parts Number

    Bike: 2003 GSX600F

    Gonna switch over to Iridium's and having a bit of trouble finding the exact NGK parts number for these plugs. I checked out the website, but it only came up with the standard plug. I did a forum search and someone on here sells them, but the link was dead. If anyone has the right parts numbers for me I'd appreciate it. The plugs don't have to be NGK, just any reputable manufacturer.

    Then give ND a try. They are just as good as NGK, if not not better and they are usually a bit cheaper.

        Stick with the standard plugs too.

        The CR9EK is a dual electrode plug. Folks that have tried Iridium plugs usually end up going back to them, as they are single electrode.

          I made sure my iridiums are gapped properly and I have no complaints. Butt dyno was very happy upon installation of those...

              the "butt dyno" is a joke meaning by my sense of feel I was satisfied with the performance gains. I find my bike starts easier with them and it was a stand alone mod, I didn't change anything else at the same time. This spring, first start after storage was way quicker. Previous years it was very cranky.

                Damn... took a while for me to get that one. HAHA Yeah I use my butt dyno a lot as well.

                  nothing wrong with a single electrode plug. I have ND plugs in my kat 1100 and my GTO and there is no way I would go back to a regular plug nor back to the overpriced NGK plug, which lacks a U groove (see http://www.motorcycleproject.com/mot...ext/u-gap.html

                  ND is a better plug than NGK, for less $.
                  On my Kat 1100, runs better than with copper plugs, especially noticeable on cold starts when it is below freezing. Bike started easily and quickly even when in the single digits.
                  Iridium plugs are superior to archaic copper plugs, it is a fact. They are becoming standard on performance vehicles. My LS2 GTO came with them and I saw for myself at the dyno how old iridium plugs outperformed brand new copper plugs. They also are oem on motorcycles, like the C14 and ZX14.

                      Take the plug # you have and do a cross reference. I think there is one at sparkplugs.com
