Ignition issue

I can start the engine and pull the key out easily and the engine keeps running. the key should not come out. is there a fix or do i replace the ignition? if i need to replace, which is the best brand?

Do you have to turn the switch back to the left or does it come out with the ignition turned to run?

A friend of mine in HS used to like tossing his keys at you while driving down the road. We finally fixed the ignition lock with a healthy dose of WD-40.
