Did you replace the ignition switch or what did you do?

i have the switch ordered. i bypassed it by hot wiring the bike which tells me that it's the problem. and it better be because i can't return the ignition switch if for some odd reason that's not the problem. but two mechanics i've talked to said that if i got the bike to come alive by hot wiring it, then most likely it's that switch.
