  • air-fuel screws - AGAIN!

OK, I did do some searching and I think I've determined I want to set them at 2.75 turns out (2002 Kat 750, with Yosh RS3 slipon).

    Questions:
    1. Can I get the caps off and do the adjustment without removing the carbs?

    2. If I HAVE to remove the carbs (yech), do they need to be re-synched after installation?

    thx all

to do it properly you will want to remove the carbs, dont worry its not hard at all.
unbolt and remove the air box, then undo the clamps and remove the carbs and then cables.
you dont need to sync then after the adjustment

The BEST way to adjust the mixture screws is with the bike RUNNING! That means the carbs ON the bike. It isn't hard if you have the correct tool to do it. Motion Pro makes the tool & it is the BEST way to get your bike to run correctly. You also won't affect carb sync. Ray.

you can actually buy extended a/f screws so you could(with mini-hands) adjust them with your hands.

sux. but if you aren't fortunate, in this situation, to be a dwarf and have a small screwdriver, take it off and do it the slow and accurate way.

no resynching needed unless your synch was off-center.
