  • Idle help??

Just purchased a 2003 750 with only 2700 miles. It has been sitting a while. Problem- cant get it to idle or run without the choke on. I can get on the road and the bike seems to run fine but turn off the choke and come to a stop and the bike dies. ANY CLUES ?????

The carbs are dirty. Specifically the idle circuit.

Running with the choke on all the time may eventually cause you to foul out the plugs.

Clean the carbs, does not take much to fouls the plugs by using the choke too much .....

+1...think I'm in the early stages of what you're experiencing....it sat for a while also and and now it will die without choke....once warm it'll idle but in gear and at low rpms it shudders pulling out in 1st and 2nd. highway is fine and dandy.
