Will 750 pre kat run with GSXR air box?

Hi, i am building a project bike using my 750 pre kat as a donor bike
i will put the engine into gsxr750 91` frame and i think mto use the gixxer air box because the kat box won`t fit in the frame
will there be a problem?
i think the gixxer uses bigger carbs, but not sure
i have K&N jet kit, yoshi exhaustand FP advancer(adjustable set at 5 degrees) which now are now runing very well

If there are no air leaks, it can be used. Specific details on how it will effect performance I do not know. I would be very surpised if any effect at all was even noticeable, again... with everything properly connected and no air/vacuum leaks.

Should work pretty similiar to the Kat air box.

i am not sure but i thing the gixxer air box rubbers are circle and the kat's(O) are oval(0)
but i may try to use the kat rubbers if there is a difference

and my biggest concern is the air- will the gixxer box let more air than the kat's one
i have jet kit so i can make the mixure richer if needed

I would think the primary effect on air flow amounts will be the air filter you choose to put in it, as long as the system is a sealed box pulling air only through that point.

You'll probably need to change the intake boots on the motor, but I don't see why not.


You should also consider GSXR cams as well.

Right, so to get that to line up on the engine side, you'll need to use GSXR intake boots if they aren't the same part #.
